Resurface Terms of Use

Effective date: October 12, 2026

Resurface is an iPhone app made by Alec Greene, an independent developer in Texas, USA ("we", "us"). By using Resurface or our website, resurfacehq.app, you agree to these terms. If you are under 18, please use Resurface only with permission from a parent or guardian.

1. Apple's licence comes first

Your licence to use the app is Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the "Standard EULA"): https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/. These terms add to it. If the two conflict about the licence itself, Apple's Standard EULA wins.

2. Resurface is not medical care

Resurface is a planning tool. It is not a medical device, a treatment or a substitute for professional care, and it doesn't diagnose, treat or monitor ADHD or any other condition. Decisions about your health belong with you and a qualified professional. If you are in crisis in the US, call or text 988, or call 911 in an emergency.

3. Don't rely on it for anything critical

Resurface brings tasks back on its own schedule, and its reminders depend on your iPhone: notification settings, Focus modes, Low Power Mode and iOS itself can delay or hide them. Don't rely on Resurface alone for anything where a late or absent reminder could cause harm, such as taking medication or meeting a legal or financial deadline.

4. The free month and your subscription

5. Your tasks are yours

Everything you put in Resurface belongs to you and stays on your iPhone. We never receive it, so we can't recover it for you: if your phone is lost, reset or the app is deleted, your tasks go with it unless your own backup (such as iCloud Backup) or an export has a copy. Keeping a backup is up to you.

6. Using the app and the website

Please don't misuse the app or the website: no attempts to break, overload or get around their security, and no spam through the contact form. We may block messages that are abusive or automated.

7. No guarantees

Resurface and the website are provided "as is" and "as available". We work to make them reliable, but we don't promise they will be free of errors or always available, or that the app will suit your particular needs. This section doesn't limit any rights you have that the law doesn't allow us to limit.

8. Limit on what we owe

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not responsible for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost data, lost profits, or a task or deadline that slipped. If we are responsible for anything, the most we owe you is the larger of what you paid for Resurface in the 12 months before the claim, or US$50. Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law doesn't allow to be limited.

9. Changes

We may update the app and these terms. If we change the terms, we'll post the new version here with a new date, and for an important change we'll tell you in the app or on the website before it takes effect. Where the law requires it, we'll also tell Apple before a significant change, and Apple may ask a parent to approve it again. Continuing to use Resurface after a change means you accept the new terms. Changes don't apply to anything that happened before them.

10. Stopping

You can stop using Resurface at any time by deleting the app; cancel your subscription in your Apple account settings if you don't want it to renew.

11. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas and applicable US federal law. If you have a problem, please email us first; most things can be sorted out that way. Any dispute that can't be settled will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Texas, and either of us may use small-claims court if the claim qualifies.
